(346 words) In which theater the "Cherry Orchard" was not staged! Who did not cry over the "Kashtanka" and did not laugh at the "Chameleon"! Since childhood, we all have been familiar with the work of the recognized classic and “Aybolit” of Russian literature - A.P. Chekhov.
He was born in Taganrog in 1860 in a large family of an unsuccessful merchant. The boy acquired a passion for literature at school. At such a young age, he was captured by the theater, and he participated in amateur productions. Already at the age of 18, the future playwright composes his first play. It was then that he gained his vocation in creativity.
In 1879, Anton Pavlovich entered the medical faculty of Moscow University. Then he made his debut in literary circles with the story "Letter to a learned neighbor" and the humorous "What is most often found in novels, short stories, etc." (journal. "Dragonfly", No. 10). Subsequently, he develops cooperation with publishers of newspapers and magazines, and also becomes a good practitioner after graduation.
Anton Chekhov is one of the richest writers on pseudonyms: A. Chekhonte, G. Baldastov; A doctor without patients, etc. He flourishes as a miniaturist in a comic (predominantly) genre. However, later he begins to reflect on deeper topics, investing more words, ideas and subtext in his works. However, he does not reach the full-length novel, feeling his constraint in the framework of a long detailed narrative.
In search of a sense of freedom, the writer, whose fame is growing, embarks on a journey whose important point has become Sakhalin. Here he finds many new stories, filling out cards on the inhabitants of the island, including political prisoners. In the 90s Chekhov published Sakhalin Island and noted that it was his stay in this place that left an imprint on all his subsequent work. Reviewers and researchers note the unusual style of narration of his works: deliberately impassive and objective, with a minimum of author's assessment. In 1900, the writer became an honorary academician in the category of elegant literature, which speaks of his recognition as a great literary figure in our country.
A. Chekhov died of tuberculosis in 1904 at the resort, where he was for health reasons. Nowadays, his stories are read by everyone, young and old, his plays are staged all over the world and do not leave the stage of the most famous theaters on the planet. Each educated person reads and studies his work, without fail paying tribute to such an outstanding, original and unlike any other talent.
